Our Group’s history began with the establishment of a private maternity centre, Tee Maternity and Gynae Specialist Center at Jalan Pasar, Klang, Selangor, by our Founder and Executive Vice-Chairman, DTSP in 1989. It was set up as a sole proprietorship focusing on the provision of O&G healthcare services. In anticipation of the growth of the O&G business, Tee Maternity and Gynae Specialist Center Sdn Bhd (currently renamed to Hospital Wanita Metro) was incorporated in 1991 to manage the business of Tee Maternity and Gynae Specialist Center. Then in 1994, as our business expanded, K.W. Tee was incorporated to manage the provision of outpatient O&G healthcare services.

In 1998, upon realising the opportunity for fertility services in Malaysia, especially in Klang, we expanded our range of O&G healthcare services to offer fertility treatments, namely IUI and IVF procedure and fertility screening. These fertility treatments were offered under our brand name, Metro IVF. In that year, we also commenced the operations of our first IVF laboratory in the same premises as HWM Klang. In the same year, our Group’s first IVF baby was successfully conceived and delivered in the following year.

In 2000, we started to offer frozen embryo procedure. Tee Maternity and Gynae Specialist Center Sdn Bhd was renamed to Metro Maternity Sdn Bhd in 2002. In 2004, the first baby conceived from a frozen embryo stored at our Group’s facility was born. Our Group’s success in the fertility industry was also further depicted by the birth of our Group’s first baby conceived through our in-house ICSI procedure in the same year.

As our business continued to grow, we saw an opportunity to further complement our Group’s O&G healthcare services and we began to offer complementary healthcare services, namely outpatient paediatrics services in 2006. The outpatient paediatric services are offered to our patients’ children up to 12 years old, and includes consultation and scheduled vaccination services (as part of the normal vaccination schedule to prevent them from certain infections and diseases).

In 2008, Klinik Wanita Banting was established at Jalan Morib, Banting. This clinic was focused on the provision of O&G healthcare services. Thereafter, a maternity hospital, Metro Maternity Banting (currently renamed to HWM Banting) was established to offer in-patient O&G healthcare services in Banting. As Metro Maternity Banting undertook the business of Klinik Wanita Banting, Metro Maternity Banting Sdn Bhd was incorporated in the same year to manage the growing business. 2 years later in 2010, our Group further enhanced our fertility treatment offerings, when we introduced surgical sperm retrieval procedures. Metro Maternity Banting Sdn Bhd was renamed to Metro IVF in 2010.

We also established 3 medical clinics for women in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, namely Klinik Wanita Metro in Kuala Lumpur in 2010 (which was subsequently disposed of in 2014), Klinik Pakar Wanita Metro Subang Jaya in 2011 and Klinik Pakar Wanita Metro in Kuala Selangor in 2012. As the demand for our services grew in Kuala Selangor, MMKS, a maternity hospital was established in 2012 to offer a wider range of O&G healthcare services including outpatient and inpatient O&G healthcare services, as well as undertake the business of Klinik Pakar Wanita Metro which was in the same vicinity in Kuala Selangor.

In 2014, HWM completed the upgrade of its existing IVF laboratory, thereby allowing us to enhance our IVF treatments with more advanced equipment, air conditioning and air filtration systems to ensure a more controlled laboratory environment. Our Group business operations continued to expand, and in 2015, we commenced the operation of our in-house diagnostic imaging centre through Vision One Diagnostic which was focused on the provision of diagnostic imaging services for O&G procedures. In the same year, we also established Klinik Pakar Wanita Setia Walk in Puchong. Upon the upgrade of our IVF laboratory, HWM started to offer PGT services in 2016 to further expand our fertility service offerings.

Subsequently in 2017, we also established MIVF Puchong in Selangor, our first fertility centre. Klinik Mey, a medical clinic for women was established in Shah Alam in the same year (which was subsequently disposed of in 2022). In the same year, Hospital Wanita Metro, MMC, K.W. Tee, Metro IVF and Vision One Diagnostic were acquired as subsidiaries of our Group in order to facilitate our Group’s listing on the LEAP Market of Bursa Securities. The following year in 2018, we successfully listed on the LEAP Market of Bursa Securities.

Our first foray outside of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor begun with the acquisition of SSH Care Sdn Bhd in 2018 for a women’s clinic in Melaka. We subsequently converted the women’s clinic into our MIVF Melaka the following year. In 2018, we also established Klinik Pakar Wanita Metro Seremban 2 in Negeri Sembilan in 2018, which was principally involved in the provision of outpatient O&G healthcare services.

We continued to expand geographically when we established 2 more fertility centres, namely MIVF Seremban and MIVF Johor Bahru in 2021. We also established 2 more clinics in 2021, named Klinik Emily in Cheras and Old Klang Road (presently known as Klink Pakar Wanita Metro C180 Cheras and Klink Pakar Wanita Metro Old Klang Road, respectively). Both clinics are focused on the provision of outpatient O&G healthcare services.

Our Group then expanded our service offerings in Klang when we set up Klinik Pakar Wanita Metro Bukit Tinggi Klang, to offer outpatient O&G healthcare services in 2022. In the same year, we set up our fifth fertility centre and expanded our geographical reach with MIVF Penang, and most recently, MIVF Ipoh in 2024.
